On Thursday, July 3, 2014 the City of Calgary officially opened the new link pedestrian bridge to the Heritage Station C-Train station, achieving their target of opening the bridge in time for the Calgary Stampede. The bridge is an important addition to the community, which will save up to 10 minutes from the pedestrian walk time from Heritage Station development to the station. Alderman Brian Pincott lead the celebrations with the community, alongside Michael Thompson, Director of Transportation Infrastructure at the City of Calgary.  Councilor Pincott thanked Westcorp for our partnership, and emphasized the importance of public infrastructure investment, alongside private sector delivery of Transit Oriented Development (“TOD”), and the importance of enhancing connections in our communities.

Tom Burr, Vice President Development said “It is great to see what can happen when the public and private sectors work together to achieve a common goal. The new bridge will make a major contribution to the community in and around Heritage Station”.
