Will my MailChimp opt-in carry over to RENTCafe?
No, your consent to Mailchimp is separate from RENTCafe. Westcorp must obtain your express consent specific to RENTCafe marketing emails, which is a requirement of the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation.
I already have a RentCafe account. Doesn’t that mean I’m automatically opted in for emails?
No, signing up for RENTCafe account is separate from your email opt-in status. Westcorp must obtain your express consent to receive RENTCafe marketing emails, as required by the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation.
What kind of emails will I receive if I opt in?
Westcorp will send community update emails similar to what you’re already used to receiving such as emergency communications, property maintenance, closures, water shut downs, etc. We may also occasionally email you about exciting resident events articles and contests.
What if I opt in and then change my mind?
You can revoke your consent at any time by changing your opt in status on RentCafe Resident Portal. You can also opt out by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
I don’t have a RENTCafe account. What is it and how do I sign up?
Signing up for a RENTCafe account gives you online 24/7 access to our community’s Resident Portal where you can:
- Pay rent online and manage payment methods
- Update your personal information
- Submit maintenance requests
- See our community event calendar
- Access important documents
