Westcorp Matches Employee Red Cross Donations for Fort McMurray Wildfires

Westcorp News

The wildfire situation in Northern Alberta is one of the worst provincial emergencies in Alberta’s history.  Over 80,000 people have been safely evacuated from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Westcorp wants all of our employees to know that our thoughts and prayers are with those directly affected by the fires. We are doing our best to help out where we can by offering up discounted hotel rates at our Bonnyville and Edmonton hotels, and potentially, in some of our rental properties. The outpouring of support from our fellow Albertans has been overwhelming!

The Red Cross has put out an emergency appeal for cash donations for the victims of the wildfires. We know that our employees want to help so Westcorp is matching any employee donations made to the Canadian Red Cross.

UPDATE May 10, 2016: Westcorp matched all employee donations ($5377) for a total donation of $10,754.00  to the Canadian Red Cross.  Thank you to all of our generous employees for your help!

Looking to donate items for the victims? Donations of NEW items only are being accepted at the Edmonton Emergency Relief Services Society (EERSS).  The Edmonton Journal has also compiled a list of resources for evacuees and for those that want to help.
