Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association’s annual Housekeeping Award winners were announced earlier this month and we are very excited to say that all four of Westcorp’s Alberta hotels made the list! Matrix, Metterra, Varscona and Bonnyville’s Neighbourhood Inn made the 2015 list for AHLA’s housekeeping awards. All properties on the list must comply with a number of codes including the Alberta Health Code, Fire Code and Innkeepers Act. As well there are a number of other criteria used in the judging. Properties that “demonstrate an overall trend of excellence in all three areas – cleanliness, maintenance, and state of repair – receive the award”. Consumer reviews, unannounced physical inspections, and complaints received by the AHLA are also used to determine eligibility for the award.
From the recent AHLA Innsider, “Every day, guests are sharing their experiences online,” says AHLA President & CEO Dave Kaiser. “Instead of earning a Housekeeping Award when the inspector arrives, hotels have to earn it from their guests every day.”
