Westcorp Brings it “Home for Dinner” with Ronald McDonald House

On Thursday March 13th, Westcorp team members showed off their cooking skills to create a wonderful meal for families staying at the Northern Alberta Ronald McDonald House as part of the “Home for Dinner” program. Together they joined forces to prep, cook and serve delicious shepherd’s pie, mixed green salad and an assortment of cookies for approximately 60 people staying in Edmonton.  The Home for Dinner Program provides an opportunity for families at Ronald McDonald House to alleviate stress by enjoying a comforting worry-free meal together when they need it the most.

“A wonderful home style supper was provided for us tonight,” said house guest Margaret Deazley, “By posting photo’s on Facebook, I am hoping to inspire others to do this as well. Last year out of 365 days, 360 suppers were prepared for the residents. I have witnessed firsthand the huge help it is to these families both financially and time wise. Suppers are always delicious and if it is not something to your taste you just cook your own!”

A big thank you goes out to all of the Westcorp team members who volunteered their time to help create this wonderful meal for  families staying at the house.

Another fun, successful event supported by Westcorp’s Community Matters program!
