Highlands Development

The proposed Highlands Square redevelopment consists of 140 residential units in three buildings, a retail building, and an existing 7-11 on the northwest corner of the site. Extensive landscaping highlights walkability as a main priority of this development. Functional outdoor spaces encourage residents and neighbors to spend time outside, putting “eyes on the street”. This will discourage crime and create an environment that everyone can enjoy.

This project focuses on young families, people moving to Alberta, and empty nesters who no longer want to maintain a single family home. Highlands is the creation of a community that offers a range of affordability and a mix of uses that will appeal to the residents and the community.

Highlands Square is an excellent site for this urban infill housing model. The current infrastructure is conducive to this type of development, minimizing strain on City resources and providing cost effectiveness for Westcorp.
